Family run business Orsam Trailers, has achieved huge employment growth since a very good bid to the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund (DEGF).
Targets to realize seven new posts by December 2018 look set to remain smashed with offers to employ nearly 18 people after 4 seasons.
The trailer rental company opened in 2014 with 6.5 staff. Orsam found their niche by excelling in compliance and quality inside a market dominated mainly by large businesses. When a chance opened for expansion and diversification into trailer maintenance, the company realised they’d must recruit more fitters and admin staff to fulfil potential commitments.
Managing Director, Rebekah Orchard lets us know: “We have been happy to be successful within our application to your DEGF. The funding came within the correct time permit us to bid to get a large contract. We have used the DEGF funding to invest in capital equipment, software and training. DEGF is now entering a fresh phase using the distribution of £12 million of recycled loan funding. Applications are invited from businesses with plans for growth and job creation in Derby and Derbyshire. Further funding has been sought to permit this scheme to become extended to more businesses in Derbyshire soon.
