Sheffield manufacturer secures five-year Hitachi Rail deal

Sheffield rail depot manufacturer, Mechan, has secured a selective five-year maintenance contract with Hitachi Rail.

Mechan said the agreement enables it to service the choices it supplied to Hitachi Rail facilities during the Intercity Express Programme (IEP).

The contract covers regular maintenance visits and 24-hour breakdown assistance with the North Pole depot in West London, Stoke Gifford near Bristol as well as the recently completed facility at Doncaster.

Mechan is likewise handling bespoke equipment drops whatsoever three locations, 80 lifting jacks, which work with two multiple 40 and a couple of bogie turntables.
