Wakefield-headquartered chemicals specialist SNF has completed the earliest phase of commissioning at its new manufacturing unit in Billingham, near Stockton.
The news follows a seven-year project and 100m investment to redevelop the 60-acre brownfield site.
The first of three lines mainly production building is actually operational, producing material to the water and wastewater industry.
Set to a target the roll-out of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technologies for your nearby North Sea market, lines two and three result from go live by Q3 of 2018 and Q1 of 2019 respectively.
“Billingham represents a big expansion to SNF’s production capabilities in Europe and marks the key strategic decision to help with our growth plans,” elaborated SNF’s operations director Andy Helliwell.
A production facility for bio-acrylamide C the main building block in every single SNF polymer C can also be online by the end of 2018. SNF’s laboratory, control room, warehouse, gatehouse, tanker bays and office facilities have already been completed.
