Five Yorkshire businesses are the main thing on the UK’s textile manufacturing boom thanks to their own personal collaboration having a Kent-based farm.
Romney Marsh Wools is sending fleeces by reviewing the flock of 1000 ewes to Yorkshire’s famous textile mills to generally be became throws, cushions, caps and toiletries.
The fleeces are processed and woven using fliers and other modes in West Yorkshire to create a unique, beautiful range of products.
Romney Marsh Wools also has a variety of indulgent toiletries built in Bradford using Lanolin through the fleeces. In true Yorkshire fashion, the wider range?includes hand-made flat caps made in Castleford by Lawrence and Foster.
The firm’s growth mirrors that noticed in great britain textiles industry, which has reported a 25% surge in production prior to now year.

The Yorkshire connection sees the raw wool fleeces traditionally cleaned by Haworth Scouring before being shipped to Lightowlers Spinning Yarns in Meltham, Huddersfield. The wool will likely be sent several miles past their prime to Townend Weaving in Slaithwaite.
