Wynn Resorts facing slew of challenges

Just with a year before its much-ballyhooed grand opening in Everett, Wynn Resorts is facing interesting things just about any week. Listed below are some in the legal and regulatory battles the provider is fighting:

•?The fallout from sexual misconduct allegations against former CEO Steve Wynn has yet to be concluded. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is predicted to produce its investigation from the accusations as well as the company’s response within the coming months. Should the commission does find wrongdoing, it may strip the casino’s license to control and force a purchase to another company. Regulators in Nevada are also conducting their own investigation.

•?Across the summer, Anthony Gattineri, a former one who owns the Everett land in which the casino now sits, filed a federal lawsuit alleging Wynn Resorts defrauded him throughout the land deal. Gattineri’s suit alleges Wynn Resorts promised him an additional, secret payment devoid of the Gaming Commission’s knowledge but never paid him.

•?Mohegan Sun, additional finalist to your Greater Boston casino license, is pursuing its lawsuit about the Gaming Commission, alleging it gave Wynn Resorts favorable treatment and wanted the business to obtain the license without reflection on other applicants. Mohegan Sun is asking a state judge to vacate Wynn’s license and order the commission to get started on the license process right away.
